The drain tube works great with the rod holder and just makes it that much better than the stock rod holder. 1/2" clear hose fits very tightly on the tube.

Perfectly fine
Put these in my Contender near the front in a spot that I'm not sure where it drains to so I ran a 1/2 in tube from them that drains on to the floor of the boat and .... it is working perfectly fine.
