TruDesign Load Bearing Collars are designed for use with TruDesign Skin Fittings and Ball Valves.
With the Collar in place, the Skin Fitting-Ball Valve-Hose Tail assembly will withstand a 500 lb (227 kg) static force applied to the Hose Tail end of the assembly for a minimum of 30 seconds – complying with North American ABYC H-27 standards.
I needed this collar because my seacock is located inside a battery compartment. If one of my marine batteries came loose and smashed into the seacock I want to make sure it would not snap off and flood the boat. The thru-hull fitting, sea cock, collar and 90deg fitings all have very high tolerances and no slack in fitment.

These load bearing collars are pretty well thought out. I've not yet installed them but the test fit I did on another structure showed that they really add to the strength of the system and will really add a lot of confidence when going to open or close the seacock some time when you've not exercised it in a bit too long. A few of mine scare me to death they seem so fragile. I really look forward to having these in place!
