Customer Reviews Summary

The reviewer found the installation of the Thru-hull Domed 2" NPS to be relatively easy, particularly after measuring the depth and using 3M 5200 for gluing. However, they expressed a need for a simpler method of marking the orientation to ensure correct valve direction, instead of the current method which involves using a sharpie and tape.

Excellent Product. Easy to install.

I had 4 2” valves that were almost unusable and one that had completely failed. After seeing a glowing review on Sail Life on YouTube I decided to give TrueDesign a try. The yard here in Mexico was not familiar and so I had to explain how the load bearing collars worked. The crew here at Palmar Marina in La Paz were a quick study and they installed them easily. In short they are strong, lightweight compared to bronze and work smoothly. They are also impervious to corrosion which is a real plus. Polymers have certainly come a long way and now offer many benefits including lower cost. Time will tell whether or not they are as durable as metal. I expect they are.

Skins install went easy

After measuring the depth to ensure the valve and load collar fit snug to the hull, they glued in easy with 3M 5200. Wish there was an easy way to mark the orientation to ensure the valve faces the right direction. Marking with sharpie and tape from the bottom-side was the only way to do it.
